The TOEFL iBT exam is a test of Academic English.
There are 1 or 2 exam sessions each month, and registration is open up to a week before the next exam session.
PLEASE NOTE: all registrations and payments MUST be made through the ETS website, ets.org.
Test format: Approx. 4 hours. The exam consists of 4 tests; Reading, Listening, Speaking & Writing.
Marking: There is no pass or fail mark with the TOEFL iBT exam. Each of the 4 tests are awarded a score out of 30; giving a maximum total score of 120. The scores can be ‘approximately’ compared to others as follows:
40-65 points = B1 (Intermediate)
65-85 points = B2 (Upper Intermediate)
85-105 points = C1 (Advanced)
>105 points = C2 (Proficiency)
Results: 10 days after the exam date, your results will be available through your ETS account page.
Certificates: Prior to the exam, you can request that a statement of results be sent directly to 3 universities, but no certificates are issued.
