These English courses are aimed at parents who want to enroll their children in a linguistic development programme outside of school hours. The program offers a practical approach to English, with great emphasis on communication and play, in a family-friendly and friendly environment where children learn without realizing that they are taught a foreign language. At the core of the program is a well-structured curriculum that is tailored to the interests of children through many age-appropriate games, competitions and group activities. Due to the small number of children in a group, progress is significant in a short period of time. The curriculum is structured towards the Cambridge Young Learners exams.
What other abilities will the children develop?
-Practice ‘stress free’ communication skills
- Express their points of view and opinions on certain topics
- Apply a cultural edge through the themes approached
- Learn how to socialise spontaneously
- Develop their self-confidence and ability to use English academically
- Develop their team spirit and skills to work with a partner or team
- Exam techniques and how to control their anxiety during an exam
- Useful techniques on how to practice their English knowledge outside of study hours
- Using technology to develop their English knowledge
How are classes organised?
Courses are organised during a school year: the first week is reserved for candidates enrolment and testing, and the courses themselves last from October, until June 2018.
The course is made up of 102 hours of teaching in total with 2x 90-minute sessions per week. The programme is set according to the school timetable, respecting school holidays as well as official holidays.
The minimum number of students in a group is 6 and the maximum is 10.
Attention: This program lasts an entire school year, and requires active dedication and participation to ensure the most effective and systematic deepening of English. It is not designed as a series of meditations that can be interrupted at any time. The basis of this programme is the standard of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages as well as the Cambridge Young Learners exams valid for the progress recommended for the acquisition of English in primary school pupils.
The course structure is as follows:
Preliminary A1 (7-8 years - grades 1-2)
Beginner A1 (8-9 years - grades 2-4)
Elementary A2 (8-9 years - grades 2-4)
Beginner A1 (10-11 years - grades 3-5)
Elementary A2 (10-11 years - grades 3-5)
